Affiliate disclosure

Who pays us, for what, and the lines that money does not cross.

The referral arrangement

Hotel links here, the Check availability buttons included, can carry a referral code. Should a reservation follow, the hotel or an affiliate partner may pass a fee to us. Going through our link costs you nothing extra compared with visiting the resort's site on your own.

Our owner's resort at #1

Entry one, Chumash Casino Resort, is a property our publisher owns outright; it belongs to the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians. That is why it opens the list. A reservation there profits our owner directly, over and above any referral fee, and we would like you to know it before deciding.

Limits on commercial influence

No property has bought its way onto the page or up the order. Editors fix positions two to ten, and a partner who wanted different wording would lose the link before we changed the entry.

Recognising a referral link

In the page source, outbound hotel links have rel="sponsored" and launch in a fresh tab. We never link to booking aggregators, online gaming services or casino sections of hotel websites.
